PRESS RELEASE

Calder Points to HB 503 as an Example of a Self-Serving Legislature

"This bill is to protect the rich."

Salt Lake Tribune reported that HB 503 originally "... aimed to cap payouts to patients at $1 million." HB 503 was sponsored by Katy Hall, R, the current House District 11 representative. "Hall, the bill’s sponsor, is a registered nurse, according to her own disclosures, and her husband is a doctor who owns shares in two Utah surgical centers and sits on the board of another regional medical center."
