As the <a href="https://gardner.utah.edu/blog/blog-age-sex-race-and-ethnicity-estimates-release-from-the-census-bureau/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">nation and Utah become more racially and ethnically diverse</a>, I will fight GOP attacks that leave our colleges and universities unprepared to serve<a href="https://www.equityinhighered.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/REHE2024_Exec_Summary.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"> our students</a> for a global marketplace.</p>

It is only one of eight states that tax food: people with lower incomes pay a larger percentage of their earnings to to this tax than people with higher incomes. This tax needs to be eliminated</p>

<p>Voter enacted Proposition 4 prohibits the legislature from gerrymandering congressional districts. The Utah GOP has fought against implementing this voter mandated law for seven years. I will fight the GOP legislature's attempts to reverse the will of the people.</p>

<p>I agree with the 2023 assessment, <a href="https://pws.byu.edu/great-salt-lake">Emergency Measures Needed to Rescue Great Salt Lake</a>, “that conservation is the only way to provide adequate water in time to save Great Salt Lake.” It is the most cost-effective and lasting option on the table. I support measures that will lease or purchase water and support farmers and cities to reduce consumption.</p>
